Riyadh: King Khalid University Medical City’s Infection Control Department has organized a series of medical and awareness activities to mark International Infection Prevention Week, observed annually in the third week of October.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the event featured specialized awareness programs highlighting strategies to curb the spread of infections and promote a safe treatment environment. It aimed to educate healthcare practitioners and visitors on the importance of preventive measures and adopting a culture of adherence to safe practices within healthcare facilities.
International Infection Prevention Week is observed each year to reinforce the role of prevention as a fundamental pillar in protecting both patients and healthcare workers.
