The King Abdullah Medical Complex, part of the Jeddah Second Health Cluster, has achieved a significant milestone by successfully performing renal transplants for a man and a child, utilizing the kidneys of a brain-dead donor. These life-transforming operations have rewritten the stories of the two recipients, a 41-year-old and a 7-year-old, highlighting the profound impact of organ donation in offering hope and improving the quality of life for those in need. The procedures were meticulously carried out following the identification and diagnosis of brain death, in adherence to the national protocol in Saudi Arabia, and in close cooperation with the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation. Director General of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation Talal Al Goufi extended heartfelt gratitude to the General Supervisor of the King Abdullah Medical Complex and the dedicated medical team, whose unwavering efforts contributed to the success of this noble humanitarian endeavor.
