Kidana Strengthens Operational Readiness of Jamarat Facility for Hajj Season

Makkah: The Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites, has strengthened the operational readiness of the Jamarat Facility in Mina as part of its operational plans for Hajj season 1447 AH through an integrated technical and engineering system aimed at improving crowd-management efficiency and facilitating pilgrims' movement as they perform the stoning of the Jamarat with ease and safety.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Jamarat Facility represents an advanced model in crowd management through an integrated infrastructure that includes 11 escalator buildings and 10 key tunnels, ensuring smoother movement between the facility's floors and various routes under an operational system supervised by the company's field and technical teams.

The operational readiness efforts included preparing and maintaining 340 escalators and activating 682 surveillance cameras linked to operations rooms to monitor field movement and manage crowd densities in real time. They also included allocating 228 golf carts to support logistical transport and emergencies inside the facility.

In terms of safety and environmental comfort, the facility has been equipped with 456 high-capacity air-conditioning units and more than 74,000 lighting units across its floors and routes. It also has 295 fire hose cabinets, 1,078 handheld fire extinguishers, and more than 3,350 automatic fire sprinklers, strengthening the safety system and raising preventive readiness inside the facility.

These efforts are part of the company's strategies to develop facilities at the holy sites and improve their operational efficiency, enhancing pilgrims' experience and enabling them to perform their rituals in an atmosphere marked by security, tranquility, and integrated services.
