Jeddah: King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri to strengthen cooperation in cybersecurity for maritime applications, including the monitoring and protection of onboard automation systems.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this collaboration leverages KAUST’s role as an international research institution and center of excellence in technological innovation, combining its academic expertise with Fincantieri’s industrial leadership to address cybersecurity challenges in the maritime sector.
