KACST Launches ‘Saudi Arabia from Space’ Platform to Showcase Kingdom’s Geographical, Tourist Landmarks

Riyadh: King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) on Monday launched the ‘Saudi Arabia from Space’ platform, coinciding with National Day, to showcase the Kingdom’s geographical and tourist landmarks from space using high-resolution satellite imagery and remote sensing technologies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the platform reflects the efforts of KACST’s National Lab to develop technological solutions; provide, process, and analyze satellite imagery; and make it available to government and private entities, researchers, and the public. It also supports education, innovation, planning, documentation, and the promotion of tourism and cultural heritage.

The platform provides reliable visual content that highlights the Kingdom’s rich natural, geographical, and environmental diversity, as well as its urban development. It showcases these features in an informative manner that strengthens Saudi Arabia’s presence on the global map and supports the national visual identity through innovative approaches.

The launch of the platform is part of KACST’s efforts to harness modern technologies in documenting Saudi identity and showcasing its natural resources from an innovative perspective beyond traditional methods. It serves as an effective tool supporting national initiatives and projects.
