Jordanian Minister of Government Communication Engages with FANA Delegation

Amman: Jordanian Minister of Government Communication and official government spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Momani received a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) in Amman today.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, Momani emphasized that Arab and national media outlets are an essential part of the national security and stability system in Arab countries. He noted their pivotal role in shaping public awareness and opinion and defending just Arab causes amid the current global information chaos and the proliferation of fake news. He commended the efforts of the FANA General Secretariat and Arab news agencies in presenting the truth professionally.

Momani also addressed modern technological developments, including artificial intelligence (AI), stating that the Ministry of Government Communication is working to expand Jordan's advanced media literacy experience to include raising awareness of AI tools and their risks.

Members of the Arab media delegation expressed their appreciation to Jordan for its hospitality, praising the pioneering role of Jordanian media and the Jordan News Agency (Petra) in strengthening joint Arab action and conveying a reliable picture of events.

The meeting covered key topics and challenges FANA discussed in its Amman meetings, including responding to the rapid flow of news and using the AI revolution to improve media production and counter misinformation. The participants also looked forward to strengthening and developing cooperation.
