Sana’a: A statement has been issued by the Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) regarding the allegation that Coalition Forces targeted a plastics factory in the Al-Geraf area of the Al-Thawrah Directorate in Sana’a on April 10, 2019.

According to Saudi Press Agency, JIAT has conducted a thorough vetting of the incident, which included a review of all pertinent documents such as air tasking orders, daily mission schedules, mission execution procedures, and after-mission reports. They also examined satellite images, statements from the representative of the legitimate Yemeni government in JIAT, and the rules of engagement of Coalition Forces, alongside the provisions and principles of International Humanitarian Law.

The assessment revealed that the Al-Geraf area is located in the Al-Thawrah Directorate, north of Sana’a city. However, JIAT noted that no coordinates of the claimed location were provided. After studying the air missions carried out by the Coalition Forces on the date in question, JIAT found that no air missions were conducted on the Al-Geraf area on April 10, 2019.

Further investigation into the daily mission schedules for the day before and the day after the alleged incident showed that there were also no air missions carried out by the Coalition Forces on the Al-Geraf area on April 9 and April 11, 2019.

In conclusion, JIAT determined that the Coalition Forces did not target a plastics factory in the Al-Geraf area of the Al-Thawrah Directorate in Sana’a on April 10, 2019, as previously claimed.
