Jazan’s Mango Farms Turn Summer into an Agritourism Experience

Jazan: Mango season in Jazan Region is no longer merely a traditional agricultural harvest, but rather an integrated summer experience combining rural tourism, local economy, and creative products linked to the region's most famous tropical fruit.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the summer season, mango farms witness growing demand from visitors, families, and enthusiasts of agricultural experiences. Respectively, farms are moving toward the concept of 'agritourism' by opening farms to visitors and organizing introductory tours to learn about the stages of mango cultivation, methods of tree care, and fruit picking at the farm.

Some farms have begun offering innovative experiences, including rural seating areas amid orchards, walking paths among trees, and corners for tasting local mango varieties, in addition to small shops displaying mango-derived products, in an experience aimed at transforming the agricultural product into sustainable economic and tourism value.

Prominent within the summer scene is the trend among various farmers toward employing modern marketing technologies through digital platforms, online stores, and live broadcasts from farms, contributing to expanding the reach of Jazan Mango products to wider markets.

According to the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the region, the Jazan Mango is no longer merely a seasonal crop, but an integrated development project capable of creating investment, tourism, and food opportunities, especially with growing interest in rural tourism and local products with geographical identity linked to place. The region is particularly known for more than 60 varieties of the 'queen of fruits' and more than 1,000,000 trees producing over 65,000 tons annually, making the season one of the region's most important agricultural, economic, and tourism seasons.
