Jazan Industries City Steadily Advances Efforts to Preserve Natural Environment

Jazan: Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries has made steady and significant progress in preserving the natural environment by implementing high-quality practices, regulations, behaviors, and legislation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these efforts are complemented by initiatives and investments in environmental education and awareness, reflecting the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu’s commitment to environmental preservation, the promotion of community awareness, and the achievement of sustainable development.

In conjunction with World Environment Day, observed this year under the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution,’ the commission highlighted its efforts to conserve natural resources in Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries and to implement circular economy business models across all stages of the value chain. It noted that 8.96% of industrial waste in the city has been recycled based on sound scientific principles.

The commission also spotlighted its successful planting of more than 11 million mangrove trees to date and aims to reach a target of 19 million along the city’s coastline. This strategic step supports the objectives of the Saudi Green Initiative. The commission underscored its ongoing commitment to advancing environmental sustainability through innovative initiatives aimed at improving quality of life, enhancing environmental management solutions, and integrating industrial development with environmental conservation.
