Japanese Stocks Close Higher on AI and Semiconductor Gains

Japan: Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose on Thursday after three consecutive days of losses, as gains in AI-related stocks tracked a rally in the U.S. technology sector.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the index gained 1.4% to close at 67,743.85 after rising as much as 2.4% during the session. Meanwhile, the broader TOPIX index advanced 0.4% to 4,020.37.

Semiconductor stocks led the market's gains, with memory chip maker Kioxia soaring 8.3% and chip-testing equipment manufacturer Advantest climbing 5.9%.
