The Japanese stock index closed today’s trading with an increase, after paring its gains yesterday as investors took profits ahead of the release of US inflation data for September.

The Nikkei rose by 0.26% to reach 39,380.89 points, while the broader Topix index increased by 0.2%, closing at 2,712.67 points.
