Tokyo: The Japanese stock index (Nikkei) closed higher today, supported by gains in SoftBank Group shares and technology companies.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the Nikkei index rose by 1.58% to reach 39,646.25 points. Meanwhile, the broader TOPIX index experienced an increase of 0.87%, closing at 2,737.19 points.
The positive performance of the Japanese stock market was notably driven by the technology sector, with SoftBank Group leading the gains.
