Israel’s Violations in Gaza Unprecedented, Says ARCO Secretary General

Riyadh: Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization (ARCO) Secretary-General Dr. Saleh Al-Tuwaijri said that the violations taking place in Gaza are unprecedented as the Israeli occupation continues to besiege Gaza, destroy infrastructure and services, and direct its strikes at civilians without regard to international humanitarian law and conventions. Speaking at the International Symposium on the Humanitarian Situation in Palestine, part of the 37th session of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent held in Amman, Jordan, from April 16 to 17, Al-Tuwaijri stressed the need to open crossings and bring aid into Gaza. He thanked the countries that continue to provide assistance to the Palestinian people, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as the UN. He stressed that the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement has the responsibility to call for a stop to the Israeli aggression on Gaza and bring those responsible for crimes to justice.
