Islamic University of Madinah Announces Global Conference on Intellectual Deviance

Madinah: The Islamic University of Madinah is set to host a significant conference titled 'The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Efforts to Confront Intellectual Deviations' in September 2026. This global event will gather researchers, specialists, and influencers from over 100 countries to discuss Saudi Arabia's initiatives in addressing intellectual challenges.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Dr. Maher Khujah, the head of the conference organizing committee and Dean of the College of Creed and Islamic Propagation, emphasized the importance of the conference as a reflection of the support and patronage from the Kingdom's leadership towards education and scientific research. He highlighted the leadership's dedication to enhancing intellectual awareness, fostering moderation, and building human capacity.

The conference aims to serve as an academic platform for showcasing Saudi Arabia's efforts in tackling ideological deviance, promoting intellectual awareness, and reinforcing the principles of moderation and balance. Dr. Khujah mentioned that the event will cover various scientific themes, including national initiatives against extremism, the causes and impacts of ideological deviance, mental health and intellectual prevention, and the role of Islamic creed in promoting moderation.

Additionally, the conference will focus on institutional cooperation in protecting society and the use of modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to bolster intellectual awareness. It targets a diverse audience, including academics, researchers, policymakers, educational leaders, media professionals, content creators, and university students.

The discussions aim to strengthen collaboration among national institutions, highlight Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating ideological deviance, and enrich scholarly dialogue to contribute to a more informed and sustainable society.
