Makkah: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has issued the guide for the 46th King Abdulaziz International Competition for Memorizing, Reciting and Interpreting the Holy Quran, whose competitions are being held at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, with the participation of 334 male and female contestants representing 133 countries.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the guide provides an overview of the competition, its objectives and categories, participation and judging procedures, stages of the competition, accompanying programs and events, and general guidelines. It aims to familiarize participants with the various aspects of the competition and facilitate their participation and time management throughout the event.

This year's edition features several significant developments, most notably the introduction of a women's section, enhancing the competition's inclusiveness and extending its Quranic message globally. The prize pool has also been increased to more than SAR10 million to motivate contestants and encourage greater proficiency in memorizing, reciting and interpreting the Holy Quran.

The guide is part of the ministry's efforts to develop the competition, strengthen its global presence, and enhance its organizational, media, and judging aspects in line with its status as one of the world's leading international Quran competitions. It also reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to serving the Holy Quran and those devoted to it.
