Kampala: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, in collaboration with the cultural center at the Saudi Embassy in Uganda, has initiated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ iftar and dates distribution programs for Muslims in Uganda. The programs aim to support the local Muslim community during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the launch event took place at the Saudi Embassy headquarters in Kampala, attended by Ambassador of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Khalil Faloudah. The initiative involves distributing five tons of dates, which will benefit nearly 18,000 individuals through the iftar and dates distribution programs. Ambassador Faloudah emphasized the significance of the initiative in strengthening the ties between Saudi Arabia and the Muslim community in Uganda.
