Riyadh: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance is set to organize the 27th edition of the local Competition for King Salman bin Abdulaziz Prize for Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation of the Holy Quran. This year’s competition welcomes both male and female contestants for the year 1447 AH, aiming to foster Quranic engagement among the youth.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the competition, which is held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, features a total prize pool of SAR7 million. The rewards are distributed across six categories, encouraging a wide range of participation.
The male winners will be honored at a ceremony on Ramadan 2, while the closing ceremony for female participants is scheduled for Ramadan 3 in Riyadh. These events not only celebrate the achievements of the participants but also serve to promote the values and teachings of the Quran.
Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh, Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance and General Supervisor of local and international Quran competitions, expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince. He highlighted their ongoing support for initiatives that motivate young individuals to memorize the Quran, compete in its recitation, and internalize its principles and values.
