Riyadh: Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif Al Alsheikh today launched the second phase of the Umrah Awareness Program, implemented by the General Secretariat for Islamic Awareness in Hajj, Umrah and Visit. The program aims to deliver a comprehensive array of religious and awareness services throughout the current Umrah season.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program is set to provide 18,863,500 religious and awareness services, which, when combined with the initial phase, totals 29,351,900 services this year. These services will be available at all locations frequented by Umrah performers in the Makkah and Madinah regions. The initiative underscores the commitment to enhancing the quality of religious services and promoting moderation.
The second phase of the program comprises a diverse range of services, including handling 400,000 calls via a toll-free hotline and addressing 150,000 religious inquiries. Additionally, it will implement 13,500 varied religious programs, such as lessons, lectures, and sermons, and distribute 300,000 books and guidance publications.
In terms of digital outreach, the ministry plans to broadcast 6,000,000 electronic messages via display screens and send 12,000,000 guidance text messages to pilgrims' mobile phones in multiple languages, thus enhancing their accessibility to information.
This initiative not only highlights the support from the leadership towards serving the visitors of the two holy mosques but also aligns with the ministry's objective to maximize the impact of religious outreach in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
