Baku: A delegation from the Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has begun an official visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, which will continue until June 20. The visit, which comes at the invitation of the government of Azerbaijan, aims to strengthen institutional cooperation and expand partnerships in the field of human rights.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the delegation will participate in the Baku Ombudsmen Summit, held under the theme 'Human Rights in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities, Risks and Responsibilities.' It will also hold meetings with senior Azerbaijani officials to exchange experiences, discuss best practices, and explore areas of mutual interest.
Key discussions will focus on youth empowerment, capacity building, sustainable development, and digital governance based on respect for fundamental rights and freedoms.
The visit reflects the IPHRC's commitment to enhancing cooperation with OIC member states and promoting partnerships that advance human rights and sustainable development across the Islamic world.
