International Dates Council Hosts Virtual Annual Meeting of Coordinators and Committee Chairs

Riyadh: The International Dates Council (IDC) held its annual meeting of national coordinators and committee chairs from member states today. The meeting was chaired by the IDC's Executive Director Princess Sarah bint Bandar bin Abdulaziz, with representatives of member states participating virtually.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was convened to align priorities among member states and to review the IDC's work for the upcoming phase. Princess Sarah emphasized that the success of the IDC is gauged by the tangible outcomes and partnerships it fosters to bolster the growth of the dates sector and to enhance opportunities for cooperation among member states.

The meeting included presentations on the IDC's strategic priorities, upcoming projects, and its institutional identity. Participants engaged in discussions about the work of specialized committees focusing on studies and research, marketing and promotion, the private sector, and the International Dates Observatory.

The meeting concluded with a review of the final statement, which underscored the necessity for stronger coordination between the General Secretariat and member states. It also called for increased support for specialized committees, an enhanced role for the International Dates Observatory, continued implementation of the IDC's strategic initiatives, and expanded cooperation among member states.
