Riyadh: The Ministry of Interior announced that Hajj security forces at the entry points of Makkah apprehended six residents and 18 citizens for violating Hajj regulations by transporting 99 individuals without Hajj permits.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the ministry issued decisions through the seasonal administrative committees against the transporters, accomplices, and those being transported. The penalties included prison sentences, fines of up to SAR100,000, naming and shaming of the violators, deportation of the expatriates with a 10-year entry ban following the implementation of the sentence, and legal proceedings to confiscate the vehicles used. Additionally, anyone attempting to perform Hajj without a permit faces a fine of up to SAR20,000.
The ministry urged all citizens and residents to comply with Hajj regulations to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims performing their rites.
