Riyadh: Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) announced the completion of Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro operations for the 1447 AH Hajj season after transporting more than 1.9 million passengers between its nine stations in Arafat, Muzdalifah, and Mina.
According to Saudi Press Agency, SAR reported that the metro successfully operated 1,800 trips throughout the season. This performance highlighted the metro's operational efficiency and its capacity to serve pilgrims in accordance with the highest standards of safety and service quality. SAR detailed that the operations spanned seven days, commencing on the 7th of Dhu Al-Hijjah and concluding after the completion of pilgrim movements at the end of the Days of Tashreeq.
SAR emphasized that the metro efficiently managed high passenger volumes through all phases of pilgrim movement. This included transportation to Arafat, transfer to Muzdalifah, movement to Mina, and transportation to the Jamarat Bridge during the Days of Tashreeq. The company noted that their integrated operational plan was crucial in ensuring smooth mobility and facilitating pilgrim movement between the holy sites during the Hajj season.
