Integrated Humanitarian Services Enrich Experience of Grand Mosque Visitors

Makkah: The services system provided at the Grand Mosque embodies an advanced model of institutional humanitarian work, where the efforts of government entities, the non-profit sector, and volunteers are integrated to deliver comprehensive care to millions of arriving Umrah performers and visitors, reflecting the Kingdom's mission to serve visitors to the holy mosques in accordance with the highest organizational and humanitarian standards.

According to Saudi Press Agency, operational statistics from the entities working at the Grand Mosque indicate that more than 300,000 Umrah performers and visitors benefit daily from the system of direct services. These services include guidance and orientation, assistance for the elderly and persons with disabilities, the provision of electric carts and wheelchairs, as well as translation and communication services in several international languages. Additionally, round-the-clock health and emergency medical services are provided.

On the healthcare front, field medical teams affiliated with the Makkah Health Cluster operate in coordination with the Saudi Red Crescent Authority through fixed health centers and field emergency points inside the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. They provide first aid and rapid intervention for emergency cases, thereby contributing to safeguarding the well-being of the visitors to the holy mosques and enabling them to perform their rituals in a safe and healthy environment.

Thousands of male and female volunteers registered on national volunteering platforms also take part in this humanitarian system. They work within organized teams in reception and guidance, crowd management, services for persons with disabilities, and communication with visitors in multiple languages. This enhances operational efficiency and contributes to elevating the quality of services provided to the visitors to the holy mosques.

These efforts come within the framework of the concerned entities' commitment to the continuous development of humanitarian services at the Grand Mosque. This ensures a safe and seamless experience for Umrah performers and visitors, meeting their spiritual and humanitarian needs, and aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance the quality of life and the quality of services provided at the Two Holy Mosques.
