Infrastructure Projects Code Sets Permissible Working Hours for Residential Areas

Riyadh: The Infrastructure Projects Code, issued by the Riyadh Infrastructure Projects Center (RIPC), has set permitted working hours for infrastructure activities within residential areas, effective August 7. The regulations apply to sectors including telecommunications, energy, water, sewage, and roadworks. Permitted working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday through Thursday, and from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on weekends. Any work conducted outside these hours will require an emergency permit.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this regulation aims to minimize disruptions to residents, ensuring greater comfort during non-working hours, and reducing noise pollution across all community segments, particularly in the evenings and on weekends.

The code serves as a comprehensive regulatory and technical guide for infrastructure development. It provides government entities, service agencies, contractors, consultants, and laboratories with the technical standards and regulatory framework necessary to effectively plan, coordinate, implement, and monitor infrastructure projects.
