Makassar: In a heartwarming experience that blended filial devotion with exceptional organization, Indonesian Kartini Abdul Hafiz accompanied her elderly mother on her Hajj journey through this year's Makkah Route Initiative in Makassar, Indonesia.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the initiative's integrated system combines technological efficiency with on-the-ground readiness, significantly reducing waiting times and easing the physical burdens of travel for the elderly and their companions. Kartini praised the professional organization and specialized care provided at the initiative's facilities, noting that the seamless transition between travel stages provided a deep sense of reassurance. A key feature of the service is the pre-arranged baggage handling, which completes all luggage procedures in the home country, allowing pilgrims to head directly to their accommodations upon arrival in the Kingdom.
The Makkah Route Initiative is a flagship program of the Ministry of Interior under the Pilgrim Experience Program, a core component of Saudi Vision 2030. It aims to complete all pilgrim procedures in their home countries before departure. The integrated system includes data verification, electronic issuance of Hajj visas, passport processing, and baggage tagging and sorting according to transportation and accommodation arrangements within the Kingdom.
