Indonesian Parliament Hosts MWL Secretary-General

Jakarta: President of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani hosted Secretary-General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa at the Parliament building in Jakarta, Indonesia. The meeting was attended by deputy speakers and members of parliament, along with several religious, government, and intellectual figures from across the country.

According to Saudi Press Agency, extensive discussions were held during the meeting between the speaker, his deputies, and committee chairpersons. They addressed several issues related to MWL’s international mission and its efforts to promote dialogue and cooperation.

Following the discussions, Dr. Al-Issa delivered a lecture highlighting shared Islamic and universal human values and exploring ways to strengthen coexistence and cooperation in societies characterized by religious and ethnic diversity. He emphasized the inclusive and unifying spirit of Islamic values and commended the Indonesian model for its positive engagement with the contemporary world, its strong pride in its religious identity, and its preservation of social cohesion within the framework of a unified nation-state.

President of the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly Ahmad Muzani affirmed that Indonesian society’s resilience in facing disasters and challenges is rooted in the strength of its values and the spirit of solidarity fostered by the country’s scholars and religious leaders.
