The Supreme Emergency Committee of the National Prisoner Movement announced today, Sunday, September 3, 2023, that it has decided to begin an open hunger strike on Thursday, 09/14/2023 AD.
In a statement, the committee called for an end to all decisions and policies taken to restrict prisoners and their living conditions, as well as the return of all rights that were taken away during the past period.
She said, "We will make this month of September a title and a month that brings together the two most sacred issues: a prison camp for which our people rose up twenty-three years ago, and prisoners whose people will rise up with them this year until the freedom of our prisoners and prisoners is achieved."
She continued, “The unity embodied by the captive movement during the last two years was the guarantee - after God’s grace - in repelling the aggression against us, which we seek to consolidate more and more day after day, and which we hope will extend to all fields of Palestinian action, and which we expect to be embodied through our people’s support of us in "This battle."
She added, "We took away our rights under which we live, with our blood, and the thousands of tons of meat in the strikes that we went through, and we did not get them either as a favor, or as a favor, or in compliance with international laws and regulations. Therefore, they are not subject to negotiation or waiver."
She stressed that "the battle with this occupier is an open battle, and we can hardly turn a page until we open another. Preparedness and alertness are our firm choice as long as the occupation persists on our land and our chests
