IMCTC Launches Initiative to Counter Extremism and Support Social Reintegration

Riyadh: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) launched an initiative focused on rehabilitating and socially reintegrating individuals with extremist and terrorist ideologies at its headquarters. The event was attended by IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi and representatives from member states.

According to Saudi Press Agency, this initiative represents a significant advancement in the coalition’s efforts to develop its intellectual framework. It aims to support member states by enhancing their capabilities to counter extremism in various forms.

The foundational course, scheduled from November 30 to December 4, involves a select group of specialists from Oman, Malaysia, Somalia, and Guinea. This group includes 16 trainees, consisting of supervisors and staff engaged in rehabilitation and reintegration programs within their respective countries.

The initiative’s primary objective is to fortify the rehabilitation capabilities of member states and improve their readiness to reintegrate individuals impacted by extremist ideologies. It seeks to balance security needs with humanitarian rehabilitation considerations.
