Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Major General Mohammed Al-Moghedi today welcomed Charg© d'Affaires of the Embassy of Libya to the Kingdom, Fateh Bashina, at the coalition's headquarters in Riyadh. Their discussions focused on enhancing counterterrorism cooperation and capacity building, while also reviewing key programs and initiatives of the IMCTC designed to support member states in these areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting involved a thorough review of the programs and initiatives implemented by the coalition, which span across four main areas: ideological, media, counterterrorism financing, and military. The discussions also highlighted the outcomes achieved in developing national capabilities, improving coordination among member states, and promoting best international practices for combating terrorism in all its forms.

Bashina expressed his appreciation for the significant efforts led by Saudi Arabia under the IMCTC, commending the coalition's quality programs and initiatives aimed at supporting member states and enhancing their preparedness in various counterterrorism fields. He emphasized Libya's eagerness to benefit from these initiatives, particularly in the current phase which calls for greater cooperation in capacity building and expertise exchange. Bashina noted Libya's geographical and strategic importance in the region, underscoring that collaboration with the coalition is crucial for supporting security, stability efforts, and addressing common challenges.
