Banjul: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) is continuing its field training program for security forces in the Republic of The Gambia as part of the second phase of the ‘Kafaa’ (Competence) initiative, which aims to enhance combat readiness and operational capabilities in countering terrorist threats.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the current training includes exercises in building-clearance and assault operations, handling complex combat scenarios, urban maneuvering, engaging armed elements, hostage management, and live-fire drills targeting both stationary and moving objectives, simulating real operational environments.
A team of IMCTC expert trainers supervises the training, providing advanced tactical instruction designed to improve coordination, response speed, execution accuracy, and the ability to manage high-risk field situations.
This program is part of a series of initiatives launched by IMCTC across member states, focusing on capacity building, readiness enhancement, and the development of joint military frameworks, reinforcing IMCTC’s role in supporting regional and international stability in combating terrorism.
