Abu dhabi: The Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority concluded its participation in the 2025 IUCN World Conservation Congress, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The event brought together international organizations, experts, and environmental decision-makers.
According to Saudi Press Agency, at its pavilion, the authority showcased its key achievements in biodiversity conservation and vegetation enhancement across 91,500 square kilometers. These achievements included planting over 775,000 seedlings and increasing vegetation cover to more than 9%. The authority also implemented programs to reintroduce endangered species such as the Arabian oryx, sand gazelle, and red-necked ostrich.
The pavilion highlighted the authority’s approach to nature protection, community development, and ecotourism promotion. It featured interactive displays of plant and soil models, field monitoring and measurement devices for tracking vegetation cover and ecosystem health, and informative exhibits on tourism initiatives. These initiatives aim to offer visitors an immersive experience that integrates the environmental, cultural, and touristic elements of the reserve.
The pavilion attracted widespread interest from delegations and visitors worldwide, serving as a platform to showcase the Kingdom’s accomplishments in managing royal reserves. It emphasized the synergy between conservation efforts and economic and social development.
