ICESCO Holds International Forum on Space Sciences

Rabat-- The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), in cooperation with Moroccan universities, held in Rabat today an international forum on space sciences, entitled "Building the global workforce for the future", with the attendance and virtual participation of a number of ministers, officials, international experts, astronauts, researchers, professors and students from several countries.

The work of this forum was inaugurated by holding an expanded international symposium to discuss developments in space sciences and its applications, where ICESCO Director General Dr. Salem bin Mohammad Al-Malik referred to the technological and economic revolution achieved by mankind in the field of space sciences, which requires seizing opportunities, encouraging skills, and building capabilities, reviewing solutions provided by space science to develop systems to monitor areas likely to be affected by natural disasters, which motivates the organization to contribute to the design and launch of satellites and joint cooperation with specialized authorities in this field.

The work of this forum will last for four days with holding other seminars dealing with ways to enhance innovation in the field of space, cooperation with international partners, and presentations on developments and experiences in the field, as well as providing practical training on how to design a satellite model, and explaining basic concepts in the fields of physics and engineering for participating university students from several countries.
