Riyadh: The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has been awarded second place globally in the Social Project of the Year category at the 5th annual Global Project Excellence Awards for 2025. This recognition was granted for the ministry’s project focused on developing a sub-sector social development strategy dedicated to persons with disabilities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project aims to improve the effectiveness of social services for persons with disabilities. It seeks to transition the ministry from an operational role to one that is legislative and supervisory. The initiative underscores a commitment to positioning the social sector as a leader in integrating individuals with disabilities, promoting their independent participation across various life aspects. This goal is pursued by offering high-quality services, enacting supportive policies, regulating the sector, and encouraging private and non-profit entities to participate in service delivery.

This global recognition highlights the ministry’s dedication to adhering to international best practices in project management. It reflects the ministry’s efforts to advance the social development sector through the implementation of innovative policies and projects while maintaining institutional excellence from the planning stages through to evaluation.
