HRH the Crown Prince Hosts Prince of Wales on Tour of Diriyah’s Historic At-Turaif District

Diriyah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Monday evening welcomed the Prince of Wales and heir apparent to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Prince William, to Diriyah. The visit underscored the historic and cultural ties between the two royal families.

According to Saudi Press Agency, HRH the Crown Prince guided Prince William through the historic At-Turaif District, which is recognized as the birthplace of the Saudi state and served as the capital of the first Saudi State. This tour highlighted the significance of the traditional Najdi architectural style, a key aspect of Saudi Arabia's rich heritage.

During the tour, Prince William was shown the palaces of the imams and leaders of the First Saudi State. A memorable moment of the visit was captured with a commemorative photograph taken in front of the Salwa Palace, which served as a historic seat of governance during the era of the first Saudi State.

The visit also included a detailed presentation of the Diriyah project master plan, offering insights into the future development plans for this culturally significant site. This initiative aims to preserve and promote the historical legacy of Diriyah, while also enhancing its status as a prominent cultural destination.
