HRH the Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session in Jeddah

Jeddah: His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the Cabinet session held on Tuesday in Jeddah. The Cabinet began by praising the Armed Forces for their role in defending the homeland and protecting its achievements against Iranian attacks, emphasizing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to security and stability in the region. According to Saudi Press Agency, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary stated that the Cabinet reviewed the Kingdom's recent achievements in various fields. These include the successful outcomes of the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum in Madinah, which led to multiple agreements and Memoranda of Understanding aimed at enhancing services for Umrah performers and pilgrims. The Cabinet also celebrated the launch of the 'Shams' satellite, a milestone in the Kingdom's space exploration efforts, and the recognition of its education and health systems at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2026. These achievements underscore the Kingdom's commitment to innovation, scientific creativity, and international partnerships. The Cabinet noted the progress of Saudi cities in the Smart City Index 2026, reflecting improvements in services, infrastructure, and quality of life. Environmental initiatives, such as the Saudi Green Initiative, were also praised for rehabilitating degraded land and planting millions of trees. Furthermore, the Cabinet approved several Memoranda of Understanding in areas like political consultations, Islamic affairs, and civil aviation, among others. An extension of the Jeddah Historic District Program and amendments to the Anti-Money Laundering Law were also sanctioned. In addition, the state will bear taxes and customs duties on livestock consignments during the Hajj season, demonstrating the Kingdom's support for religious practices and economic activities.
