Houthi Statements Seen as Diversion from Violations in Yemen, Coalition Asserts

Riyadh: The Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, through its official spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Malki, has claimed that recent statements made by the Houthi group against Saudi Arabia are attempts to distract from their violations against the Yemeni people. The coalition asserts that these statements aim to deflect attention from the economic hardships and societal rejections faced by the Houthis within Yemen and neighboring regions. According to Saudi Press Agency, the coalition views these claims as a continuation of hostile actions by the Houthi militia, which threaten both regional and international security. The coalition, alongside international partners, has put forth initiatives to alleviate the suffering in Yemen and resolve the ongoing crisis. Despite these efforts, the Houthis have rejected a proposed roadmap for peace, escalating tensions by attacking Sea Lines of Communication and international trade routes in the Southern Red Sea and Bab Al-Mandab Strait. The coalition warns of a decisive response to any actions targeting Saudi Arabia or attempts to infringe on Yemen's sovereignty. It reaffirms its commitment to protecting the Kingdom and supporting Yemen in accordance with Customary International Humanitarian Law.
