Healthcare Sector Transformation Program Provides Healthcare for Pilgrims

Mina: The Healthcare Sector Transformation Program, dedicated to ensuring a long, healthy and productive life for everyone in the Kingdom, is providing healthcare to pilgrims during Hajj season 1445 AH. It puts human capabilities, health services and ambulatory center resources in the service of pilgrims to offer high-quality health treatment through efficient and experienced staff. The initiatives and contributions of the transformed health sector vary based on the objectives it aims to achieve. One such initiative is seeking to maximize charitable giving through the "Health Volunteer Center", which is dedicated to enabling and organizing volunteering in the field of health, pooling together all available human capabilities to serve the pilgrims. According to the center's official website, there have been more than 46,000 volunteering opportunities. The transformation that the health sector underwent makes it possible for all concerned authorities to work together to offer the best care to pilgrims as wel l. One project that works toward that is the coating of the pedestrian paths at the holy sites with flexible rubber asphalt, The project, which covers over 15,000 square meters and includes the paths between Muzdalifah and Arafa, was implemented in order to reduce the number of foot and ankle injuries caused by long periods of walking, particularly among the elderly. It facilitates the movement of pilgrims from Madinah to Makkah, and of Ministry of Health and Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) field teams' vehicles when needed to attend to different health cases at the Miqat Mosque and the surrounding area. At the peak of the Hajj season, SEHA Virtual Hospital continues to assist millions of people through a team of highly trained medical professionals who work round the clock to provide virtual medical services in areas such as "stroke medicine and remote critical care", monitor heart patients through wearable devices the wear, and provide medical support in the event of an emergency or disaster. Aside f rom the Ministry of Health's use of new technologies that connect the radiology departments in hospitals at holy site to the "communication medicine" system, several medical electronic applications can easily be used by smart mobile carriers. The National Crises and Disasters Control Center is fully mobilized to prevent or respond to health crises, and the Command and Control Center monitors hospitals, services and fully equipped mobile clinics that accompany pilgrims, consolidating the Kingdom's pivotal and leading position in global health.
