Mecca: Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel participated in the main session of the 49th edition of the Grand Hajj Symposium. The minister affirmed that ‘health capability’ is a fundamental pillar in enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals safely.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the minister indicated that it reflects the shift toward enhancing prevention and integrating healthcare services with the highest quality standards. This aligns with the objectives of the Health Sector Transformation Program and the Pilgrim Experience Program under Saudi Vision 2030, which aim to improve health and quality of life, enabling pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
He also noted that the Ministry of Health has adopted a comprehensive preventive approach, starting with early health assessments for pilgrims in their home countries. This ensures their health capability and the absence of illnesses that may hinder the performance of rituals or pose a public health risk.
Moreover, he mentioned that the ministry has maintained ongoing coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO) and concerned countries to update health requirements. This contributes to the preparedness of the healthcare system and the creation of a safe health environment at the holy sites.
