Makkah: The Ministry of Interior’s Hajj security forces, stationed at the entry points of Makkah, have taken action by apprehending 17 individuals-comprising six residents and 11 citizens-on charges of transporting 54 people who did not possess the necessary Hajj permits.

According to Saudi Press Agency, administrative rulings have been issued against all involved parties, including the transporters, their accomplices, and those being transported. The penalties imposed encompass imprisonment, fines that can reach up to SAR100,000, and the public disclosure of the violators’ identities. Additionally, residents involved in these activities face deportation along with a 10-year ban from re-entering the Kingdom once they have served their sentences.

Judicial requests have been made to confiscate the vehicles used in these violations. Moreover, individuals who attempt to perform Hajj without the required permit are subject to a fine of up to SAR20,000.

The Ministry of Interior has emphasized the importance of compliance with Hajj regulations, urging all citizens and residents to adhere strictly to these rules. The ministry highlighted that such compliance is crucial to ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims during their religious rituals.
