Acting Director General of General Security, Brigadier General Elias Baissari, on Tuesday received in his office, the UN's Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, accompanied by the Commander of UNIFIL Forces, Major General Aroldo Lázaro. Discussions reportedly touched on the general situation in Lebanon and the region, the UNIFIL's work, in addition to field developments in light of Israel's continued attacks on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and ways to reduce tension on the southern border.
