Grand Mosque Imam Highlights Dream Interpretation, Cautions Against Soothsayers

Riyadh: In his Friday sermon at the Grand Mosque in Makkah: Imam Sheikh Saleh bin Humaid warned against turning to soothsayers and astrologers, stressing that while a true dream (ru'ya) brings glad tidings, it cannot serve as a basis for religious rulings.

According to Saudi Press Agency, he categorized dreams into true visions from Allah, troubling dreams from Satan that should remain private, and daily reflections. The Imam emphasized that dream interpretation requires sound religious knowledge and must not be approached carelessly.
