Makkah: The General Transport Center, serving as the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites, recently held a workshop focused on integrating artificial intelligence and Internet of Things technologies into Makkah's transportation system. The event saw participation from 16 government and relevant entities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the workshop aimed to highlight best practices and modern applications of AI and IoT technologies in transportation. It explored potential opportunities to utilize these technologies to enhance the transport system, boost operational efficiency, and improve user experience. This initiative supports broader digital transformation goals and aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

The workshop included interactive discussion sessions that examined key challenges and opportunities. During these sessions, several initiatives and innovative ideas were proposed to foster collaboration among participating entities and improve services for pilgrims and residents of Makkah.
