Manama: The 19th regular meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) speakers of Shura, representatives, national, and nation councils convened today in Manama. The meeting saw participation from the Kingdom’s delegation, led by Shura Council Speaker Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al-Sheikh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the speakers reviewed the agenda and were briefed on a report from the chair of the 18th regular meeting about the progress made over the past year. A significant decision was made regarding joint Gulf topics, as the speakers approved a Gulf-wide theme focusing on the digital economy. This theme, titled “the GCC Digital Economy: Legislation, Development of Technical Infrastructure, Enhancing Contribution to GDP, Stimulating Investments, and Strengthening Community Safety on Digital Platforms,” aims to address key areas of digital advancement.
Additionally, the speakers of councils from the GCC member states approved several items listed on the meeting’s agenda, furthering their collaborative efforts in regional development.
