GCC Secretary General Visits Unified Military Command Headquarters, Commends Efforts of GCC Armed Forces Personnel

Riyadh: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi visited the headquarters of the GCC Unified Military Command (UMC) in Riyadh on Sunday. He was received by Commander of the UMC Major General Abdulaziz Ahmed Al-Balawi, along with several senior officers from GCC member states.

According to Saudi Press Agency, during the visit, the GCC secretary general received a briefing from the commander outlining the UMC's duties and its role in strengthening military integration and coordination among the armed forces of GCC countries, supporting the joint Gulf security and defense system.

In remarks to the UMC personnel, the secretary general commended the dedicated efforts of the armed forces members from GCC states serving within the UMC. Albudaiwi also expressed pride in their professional work, which reflects the high caliber of Gulf military personnel, stressing that these efforts form a key pillar in strengthening the security and stability of GCC countries and reinforcing the joint Gulf defense system.

Moreover, he expressed his pride in the high level of competence and readiness demonstrated by the armed forces of the GCC states, highlighting their professionalism in confronting the treacherous Iranian attacks targeting GCC countries and defending their sovereignty and security with courage, dedication, and sacrifice.

The GCC secretary general also affirmed that the bravery and commitment shown by Gulf armed forces personnel reflect the strength and cohesion of the Gulf defense system in safeguarding the resources of member states and preserving the security and stability of their peoples.

Additionally, Albudaiwi emphasized that the UMC represents a key pillar of joint Gulf military operations, reflecting the commitment of the leaders of the GCC states to advancing military integration in a way that ensures the security and stability of the member states and preserves their assets and achievements.
