Munich: Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi met yesterday with Chairman of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Military Committee Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference in the Federal Republic of Germany.
According to Saudi Press Agency, during the meeting, the two sides reviewed the latest regional and international developments, focusing particularly on the situation in Gaza and the wider region. The discussions highlighted the ongoing challenges and the need for collaborative efforts to address them.
The GCC Secretary General stressed the need to intensify international efforts to end the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. He reaffirmed the GCC’s commitment to regional stability and international efforts to resolve humanitarian crises. This underscores the GCC’s proactive stance in addressing humanitarian issues and fostering peace in the region.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee emphasized the important role of the GCC states in maintaining regional and international security and stability. He praised their status in regional and international forums, acknowledging the GCC’s contributions to global peacekeeping and security initiatives. This recognition reflects the strategic importance of GCC states in global diplomatic and security landscapes.
