Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi received the Russian Federation’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sergey Kozlov, during a meeting in Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing Gulf-Russian relations within the strategic dialogue framework established in 2011. Both parties emphasized the importance of accelerating the implementation of the joint action plan for 2023-2027. This plan is a result of the seventh joint ministerial meeting of the strategic dialogue between the GCC and the Russian Federation, which included the foreign ministers of all GCC member states and the Russian Foreign Minister in September 2024.
The discussions also highlighted the Secretary-General’s upcoming participation in the 13th International High-Level Security Conference. This event is set to occur at the end of May in Moscow and will be held at the invitation of Sergei Shoigu, Secretary-General of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.
