Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Albudaiwi stated that the Sports Investment Forum (SIF), to be hosted by Saudi Arabia in April, represents an ideal platform to showcase the potential of the GCC member states and highlight the role of sports as a bridge for regional cooperation and economic development. He further described the forum as a significant step towards achieving the council’s visions for developing the sports sector and opening new avenues for investment in sports.
According to Saudi Press Agency, this statement was made during Albudaiwi’s acceptance of the SIF emblem from the CEO of the forum, Ibrahim Al Bakri, today.
Albudaiwi praised the Kingdom’s significant efforts in the sports sector, noting that the Kingdom’s hosting of numerous major sporting events in the coming period underscores its leading role in this field.
He also emphasized that the SIF plays a crucial role in showcasing the investment opportunities within the sports sector and strengthening its contribution to the national economy through sports activities. He highlighted that GCC member states are committed to creating an environment conducive to sustainable sports investment, aiming to position themselves as a global hub for sports investment.
