GCC Secretary-General Criticizes Israeli Blockade of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Riyadh: GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation forces’ actions in preventing humanitarian and relief aid from entering the Gaza Strip. He considered this a blatant violation of all international charters and laws, particularly international humanitarian law, which guarantees the provision of basic needs for civilians in conflict areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi affirmed that these illegal measures exacerbate the humanitarian crisis endured by the Palestinian people in Gaza, worsening their ongoing suffering due to these dangerous actions by the Israeli occupation forces.

He called on the international community to intervene immediately and pressure the occupation forces to lift the unjust restrictions imposed on aid and to work towards ensuring that urgent relief reaches the basic needs of the Palestinian people, especially during the month of Ramadan.

Furthermore, Albudaiwi reiterated the steadfast position of the GCC states in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with peace initiatives and relevant international resolutions.
