Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi expressed his strong condemnation of the illegal decisions and measures announced by the Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank, which include attempts to impose unilateral faits accomplis in violation of the principles of international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi emphasized that the illegal and unilateral steps taken by the Israeli occupation forces to impose sovereignty constitute a flagrant violation of international law, international resolutions, and existing agreements concluded in this regard. He called on the international community to assume its legal responsibilities, take firm positions to halt these violations, and ensure respect for international humanitarian law.
Albudaiwi reiterated the GCC's firm position in support of the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with east Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, and to achieve their aspirations for a life of dignity and peace.
