GCC Secretary-General Condemns Iranian Attack on Saudi Tanker SIDR in Strait of Hormuz

Riyadh: Gulf Cooperation Council GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting the Saudi tanker SIDR during its transit through the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the tanker's crew members.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Albudaiwi affirmed that this Iranian attack constitutes a dangerous escalation, a grave violation of international law, and a direct threat to the security and safety of international maritime navigation, exposing regional security and stability and the flow of global trade to grave risks.

Albudaiwi underscored that the GCC member states stand firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in every measure to safeguard its security and protect its interests.
